I have had a great experience. My dentist was a real professional with a relaxing manners. The people who work there are very pleasant and calm. Western Dental in Goleta CA has a great crew and I recommend them for anyone who suffers from dental phobia.

I've been coming here since I was a kid. I honestly don't know why I still come here. They've canceled my appointments probably over 20 times over the years. The fun part is, they don't tell you it's canceled until you get there. They try and say, "oh we tried to call you", which is nonsense because there is no calls. The doctor always leaves early and they always seem to overbook. They've even called me a day before my appointment to confirm, just to cancel when I arrive. This has happened to my mom, dad, and all 3 of my sisters multiple times. I had my wisdom teeth done there and they were very unprofessional. No explanation on the procedure, they just want to get you in and out quick and be done with the day. I asked for more numbing (because I still felt the procedure) and the doctor declined. It was only when I was about to walk out, they gave me more numbing (but squirted a bunch of it down my throat in the process). I honestly think there could be something nefarious going on. There's a sweet little lady that does X-rays and sometimes the cleaning, she's probably the only reason I kept coming. The X-ray people are cool but that's about it. Terrible place, don't go. I'm officially leaving.

Hereโs the bad (good to follow):
Iโve had two experiences here (2/2) where I had to wait in the waiting room, after showing up early, for 30+minutes then waited in the chair for 10+minutes as the hygienist/tech went for a dentist. There are some other reviews about time wasting and maybe Iโve just been unlucky on the days Iโve been there, but I typically expect to be in and out of the dentist (sans big surgery) within an hour of my appointment time.
Getting an appointment within a reasonable time frame is difficult, even if youโve had an appointment showing that you need fillings or work doneโฆ apparently needs to be an emergency.
Not getting any notifications for your appointment by call, text, or email is frustrating.
The call center you get sent to is not very helpful and has sent me back to the office in Goleta, where I called originally, to explain the issuesโฆ again.
I think the franchise/management (not necessarily the people/manager on site) are probably the issue and they make me not want to continue to support themโฆ Giving them one more try then itโs on to searching for a new dentist again!
The good:
The people Iโve interacted with were incredibly friendly!
Updated: Staff still friendly, but had only 1/2 of the work done that they were supposed to fix in one session and have had 2 cancellations on my rescheduled appointments. They donโt have enough staff or canโt keep staff around which signals to me there are bigger problems. Feel like Iโve given them the benefit of the doubt numerous times and still feel let down.
Going to be asking for a refund on the 1/2 work not done and finding a new dentist!

I was assigned this dentist because of where I live, but I will never make the mistake of going here again. I had an appointment and arrived on the day and correct time, but the office was closed. I didnโt receive a voicemail or email informing me. I had to call the main office to get any information and they were able to fit me in for the next day. When I arrived, the receptionist and reception manager were very unprofessional with their communication and claimed they had tried to notify me of the cancellation the day prior.
I waited for over an hour and finally got my x-rays done. Then, waited another 45 min to be looked at by the dentist. As I was sitting in the chair, I noticed how dingy the equipment looked and the dirt in the corners of the room. It was NOT clean. There were hardly any other patients around, but they seemed to be very short staffed. Not only that, but the hygienist only comes on Saturdays. I wouldnโt be able to have a teeth cleaning for a month and a half. ***I highly advise anyone new in town to avoid this place and find somewhere else.

If a 0-star option would have been there I would have opted for that. Such unprofessional behavior. I am a new patient and they kept me waiting like hell. I went for 2.30 pm appointment but the doctor came to see me at 4.30. They don't have value for others' time. They suggested a few things including deep cleaning. I asked what the charges for deep cleaning only for which they didn't have any answer and suggested that I have to take teeth mold and then can proceed with the cleaning. Without the mold, I cant do the deep cleaning. Such a horrible experience for the first time there. They quoted me around 1046$ for the deep cleaning stuff(after my insurance). Not at all Recommended.
