Took my little furry guy to get ready for his international trip. Everyone was kind, efficient, personable and beautiful. ๐ซถ
Update: we took our big furry guy into get ready for his separate international trip and once again, everyone was wonderful.
Dr. Pearl and her team were attentive, patient and thorough. We really appreciated them helping us prepare and submit our paperwork for our pupsโ international travels.
Thank you so much for the fabulous care and support.

Experience with management was very challenging. Communication at times lacked professionalism, and leadership often felt reactive rather than consistent. When issues arose, clear accountability and resolution were not always evident. This environment appeared to affect staff morale and could reasonably raise concerns about consistency in operations and animal care. Effective leadership requires professionalism, accountability, and sound judgment, which were not consistently demonstrated during my visit!

I cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible care my dog Todo received after a terrifying 15-foot fall. Being over 6 hours away from home, I was panicked and desperate when I rushed her in. The staff took her immediately - no questions asked, no hesitation - just pure compassion and professionalism when every second counted.
Dr. Sheri MacVeigh was absolutely wonderful. Her thoroughness in examining Todo and explaining everything to me was remarkable, but what stood out most was how genuinely she cared. You could see it in how she handled my girl with such dignity and tenderness throughout the entire visit.
The entire staff went above and beyond. While I was anxiously waiting in the exam room, one of them even brought out a dog to comfort me - such a thoughtful gesture that meant the world during such a stressful time.
If you ever find yourself in an emergency situation, especially far from home, this is where you want to be. Dr. MacVeigh and her team treated us like family, not strangers passing through. Todo is recovering well thanks to their expert care. Highly, highly recommend!

Complaint:
On October 14, 2025, I booked an appointment online with Montecito Pet Hospital for my dog. Nowhere on their website did it state there was a $50 no-show or cancellation fee. I called the next morning to cancel because my dog was feeling better and was told Iโd be charged $50.
When I mentioned that no such policy was shown on their site, staff member Dominique said it was a third-party booking system and that the fee would be sent to collections. The only cancellation link I saw was in the confirmation email, which simply said โchange or cancel appointment,โ and it didnโt work when I tried.
This policy was not disclosed upfront, and I believe itโs unfair and misleading. Iโm requesting that the $50 fee be removed and that the business clearly post their cancellation policy before customers book.

I was new to Santa Barbara and wanted to establish a vet for my 1 year old puppy corgi back in July 2024. My corgi has never had issues with any of the 3 previous vets that we have been visiting in Orange County. On my first visit (and only visit) to Montecito Pet Hospital, Dr. Pearl rushed in to our room and immediately was being physical with my puppy. He showed no signs of aggression but she insisted that he wears a muzzle for her safety. I was taken by surprise but placed the muzzle that she provided on him so I can continue his physical (I should have seen this as a red flag and left). The muzzle that she provided was not the right size for him and the metal bracket of the muzzle started chocking him. My poor corgi was choking and meanwhile on the side Dr. Pearl was just standing there lecturing me why I should practice muzzle training with him more instead of helping me get the muzzle off of him. I was panicking and yelling at her for scissors to cut the muzzle off of him but she nonchalantly walks to the back to come back 5 min later with scissors. I have added pictures to show that my puppy corgi is really calm and loving even to my cat and other dogs. I am not a confrontational person so I paid his bill and left the hospital to move on from this experience. My intention was to never look back at this experience but should have wrote this review earlier or called an agency to file a complaint.
5 months later, Montecito Pet Hospital had the audacity to call me regarding a bill for his fecal sample. They made the mistake to not add it to my original bill and threatened to put me to collection. I paid them the $60 for the fecal sample today, even though from July to now I never received any information on the results. The outrageous fact is I still paid them for their "doctor visit" ($500 paid in July) and was never refunded because the doctor labeled my dog aggressive in the report.
Dr. Pearl should reflect on her practice and stop treating pets as just a form of income.
DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR!

Love to hear Montecitoโs Pet Hospital reply as they sincerely donโt care about the fact of the incident. As if my one star review was solely because of cost.
