It was a Friday around 9 pm. I had an appointment for like two weeks later, but I couldn’t wait anymore—the pain was unbearable. The antibiotics weren’t doing anything and the pain just wouldn’t stop.
I found this dentist, read a few reviews, and drove over right away. I didn’t even call, I just showed up. The door was closed, but I opened it and said hello. A man came out and I told him what was going on. He asked about my insurance—I said Medi-Cal. He said he didn’t take it, and I told him that was fine, I could pay, I just needed help with the pain.
He let me in, and in about 30 minutes he pulled my tooth. I walked out with no pain. I paid $522 and even left a tip. The guy was super nice and very professional. He never disrespected me at all. He really knows what he’s doing—he’s got 51 years of experience.
Thank God I found this dentist.

Anybody in a emergency situation with a tooth should definitely go see Dr. Rolfe.
What an absolute marvelous experience.
You will be dealing with a true classic highly experienced professional that knows his stuff in and out.
I called at 5:30 and got to his office around 6:00 pm. I was out with my problem solved in less than 30 minutes.
Most important is the confidence Dr. Rolfe instills in you by explaining clearly every option and steps to resolve the issue.
I can't emphasize more what a great experience it was.

A remarkable person and dentist. Very nice experience and recommended a periodontist for follow-ups. He also gently and subtly adviced me to clean my teeth more often. Will keep that in mind.

I would love to recommend that every city needs a Dr. James Rolfe, but this man is one of a kind and we need to just be happy he is here serving our community of SB/Goleta. I had such bad tooth pain, I thought I could make it until my appointment on Monday morning, but it got to be too much. Dr. Rolfe’s assistant answered the phone happily on a Saturday at 4PM! I was stunned. She said “Let me see if he can take you at 6.” I was even more stunned. The being stunned affect lasted all the way until the end of my appointment when Dr. Rolfe expertly numbed me in around 15 minutes and extracted my wisdom tooth in under 5 minutes with absolutely zero pain and in a rather urgent situation of pain/discomfort he remained calm with decades of experience at his disposal. Something my usual dentist was not able to do. Thank you so much for doing what you do Dr. Rolfe and company!

Im currently visiting out of town from Denver and was in need of an emergency appointment. I decided to go online and found this dentist. Although he seemed very professional something seemed off about his tone etc so even though my gut was telling me not to book an appointment, I did anyway. He didn’t ask any insurance info, my name, anything. This seemed off! I went back online and found someone that seemed very professional and asked all the appropriate information before my appointment. I thankfully was able to get the work done! Thank god. While I was at the appointment this dentist contacted me numerous times and proceeded to leave very nasty and rude messages. I have copied and pasted the message. Trust your gut! Don’t go to this guy!!
